The MAC Open Mic made me the artist I am today. The great people there, the management, the sound technicians, the hosts, went out of their way to create a supportive environment which enabled anyone to experiment with a dream, to go out on a limb in a safe place and take the chance to perform for the first time or the 100th time.

Being an artist means taking chances, trying new things, pushing limits. And the open mic enabled me to do that in a welcome, artist-supportive environment. It is one of the hidden gems of Milford.

Some of the greatest moments of my life were on the stage at 40 Railroad Avenue. That’s what my song “No Gravity” is about, word-for-word: it describes exactly it was like for me whenever I played at the MAC.  ~~ Will Baird
