 Firehouse Gallery

The Milford Arts Council and the City of Milford came to an agreement in 2000 to develop the former Walnut Beach Fire Company #3 building into a community facility to promote the arts in the Walnut Beach neighborhood.  This historic station was retired after having served the neighborhood since 1920.

The gallery opened in 2002 and includes approximately 1,000 square feet of bright gallery space, a lower level studio, and a second floor for offices and a residential dwelling unit that is for our Artist in Residence program.

The Firehouse Gallery was recently renovated inside and out, complete with a stunning mural by artist, John Paul O’Grodnick.

Today, you’ll find a variety of beautiful art exhibits, classes, workshops, demonstrations, and interactive experiences at this iconic building by the beach. The gallery is surrounded by a vibrant arts and business district and it's only two blocks from the Long Island Sound (MAP).

Artist in Residence - Housing / Studio

Milford Arts Council’s Firehouse Gallery is now accepting applications for its Artist in Residence.
