OPENING: Figurative Exhibit

Opening nights for art exhibits are always exciting. Last night was no exception. Our annual Figurative Exhibit opened with a reception at The Firehouse Gallery that was open to the community, and it was nothing short of exhilarating. The walls were adorned with artwork that challenged artists to create 2- and 3-dimensional original artwork that explores, interprets and draws inspiration from the human figure. The artwork was judged by Dean Fisher*, and cash awards were given to the winners at the reception on January 16:

1st Place Ginnie Chase

2nd Place Paige Miglio

Third Place Kathleen Godiksen

With Honorable Mentions to Michael Moore and Linda Dohanos

*Judge Dean Fisher has been a painter and draughtsman for over thirty years, and exhibited throughout the U.S. in prominent galleries such as Hirschl & Adler Modern; The Tatistcheff Gallery, Cacciola Gallery, all in NYC; and Prographica Gallery in Seattle, WA. Dean spent eight years in Spain, France and England painting, studying and copying the masters in major European museums as a form of study.
