Poring Over The Souped Up BLUEGRASS BASH One Week Later

This time last week, the tables were being set, the sound was being checked, the ticket booth was bracing itself for the 250 guests, musicians, and volunteers who were about to swoop into the MAC - 100 on Saturday and 150 on Sunday - for the Souped Up Bluegrass Bash weekend.

Over the course of two nights, the second annual indoor winter bluegrass festival featured:
6 locally sourced soups
4 bands
2 nights of fun
For 1 big community-wide party

On stage Saturday night, Deadgrass jammed for 3 1/2 hours! Back by popular demand, this string band took the audience on an adventure through Jerry Garcia’s musical world and delivered beyond expectations once again.

On Sunday, #SwitchFactory opened the event, followed by #HitchandtheGiddyup and headliners, #BeesintheBarn. All three bands displayed mind-blowing musicianship and blew us away with bales and bundles of bluegrass bliss. Maybe it was the performance enhancing dinner provided by ColonyGrill? We think yes!

Meanwhile, six delicious soups abundantly poured into party-goer’s cups, as a soup contest between six local restaurants flowed for all three hours of the party. Stonebridge, Bin 100, Bridgehouse, Reggianos, Bees Knees, and Bobette’s all participated in the contest with Bobette’s taking the crown for 2020 with their Drunken Tomato Tortellini soup.

Our guests were also pleasantly surprised to find a generous amount of free food provided for their enjoyment by Subway and Scratch Baking. Lots of yumminess to go around.

In the lobby, Clayton Percy discussed with his signature enthusiasm, the offerings of Your CBD Store on Boston Post Road in Milford. This elite Hemp Extract product company utilizes natural plant synergies and has made quite a name for itself in Milford and beyond. Clay had tons of news and information to share with interested guests. Downstairs in our Speakeasy Lounge, Milford Point Brewing streamed two locally-beloved craft beers out of the taps that they generously donated to the MAC, and our sponsor Wines And More made a lot of new friends.

In just one year, The Souped Up Bluegrass Bash has quickly doubled in size and is now press-worthy enough that a photographer from Hearst Media joined in the fun, snapping pics for the SEEN section of the CT Post. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, friends. Equally mighty was the pool of volunteers who donated their time to make this event (and all events at the MAC) such a huge success as well as the main sponsors of the BASH: Berchem Moses PC (sponsor of all MACLive events); yourcbdstoremilfordct; Milford Point Brewing; and Cohen, Kaufman & Associates.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TURNED THIS PARTY INTO A BASH!
