About Eastbound Theatre
Your Community Theater Committee
Eastbound Theatre is the MAC’s vibrant community theater committee. Led by seasoned professionals and an enthusiastic team, EBT provides an array of diverse offerings:
- 3 Full Stage Productions: including farce, drama, romance, or mystery every September, February, and June. Season Ticket Packages Available Aug-Feb.
- Original One-Act Festival: In partnership with the Westport Community Theatre, EBT hosts a two-weekend festival of original one-act plays each summer.
- Plays in Development: showcasing staged readings of new works before an audience, followed by discussions with the playwright, director, and cast.
- Shakespeare in Eisenhower Park: In its inaugural year, this initiative featured “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to enthusiastic audiences.
EBT’s repertoire spans from classic Shakespearean plays such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” to popular hits like “Four Weddings & an Elvis.” They also bring fresh and innovative plays to the stage, like last season’s “Dead Man’s Cell Phone,” and reimagine classics, demonstrated by the immersive, in the-round production of “A Streetcar Named Desire” last season. Besides, EBT is dedicated to nurturing new talent through the East/West Playfest of one-act plays and the Plays in Development series.
