History

  • 1920. Milford Fire Company #3 opens.
  • 2000  The Milford Arts Council and the City of Milford collaborate to repurpose the building into an arts & cultural hub for the Walnut Beach area.  
  • 2002  The Firehouse Gallery opens with…
    • -1000 square feet of bright gallery space
    • -Artist in Residence Apartment w/ Studio & Office space
    • -Exhibits, workshops, classes
  • 2019 a striking mural by artist John Paul O’Grodnick adorns the outside south wall. 
  • 2024 another colorful mural is added to the garage door by Miguel Estrada 
  • Today.  Continues as a hub in the lively Walnut Beach arts and business district and just two blocks from the Long Island Sound.
