The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Written by Simon Stephens, based on the novel by Mark Haddon
Directed by Kevin Pelkey
The incident concerns a mystery surrounding the death of a neighbor’s dog.
Fifteen-year old Christopher is a math whiz but he is ill-equipped to deal with everyday life situations. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out determined to identify the true culprit. This leads to unexpected discoveries and a journey that will change his life forever.
The play has received warm receptions, with most critics impressed by its ability to convey the point of view of the young protagonist and the compassion of his school mentor.
The play earned industry awards for both the London and New York productions including 5 Tony Awards on Broadway.Â
Actor Mickey Rowe was the first openly autistic actor to play Christopher Boone in the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. He documented this experience in the book Fearlessly Different: An Autistic Actor’s Journey to Broadway’s Biggest Stage.
