Larry Bellorín is a master of Venezuela’s traditional Llanera music and a multi-instrumentalist known for his virtuosic harp and cuatro playing.
Raised in Punta de Mata, he began shining shoes and singing by age six, eventually earning the title of “maestro” from GRAMMY winner Renaldo Armas. He’s performed with legends like Cristina Maica and Teo Galindez, founded a folk music school, and taught in Venezuela’s Alma Llanera program before fleeing political persecution to the U.S.

Joe Troop is a GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and multi-instrumentalist blending Appalachian folk with Latin American traditions.
Originally from North Carolina, he spent a decade in Argentina where he founded the groundbreaking band Che Apalache. His solo record Borrowed Time, featuring Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, showcases his signature fusion of social commentary and global roots music. Now based in Durham, he leads ensembles that bring his genre-crossing sound to new audiences.
