Lyrical Voices presents A Night of Poetry & Arts has been a brave creative home in the Bridgeport, Connecticut community for over twenty Years. This event has grown and been extended to venues beyond Bridgeport finding artists in their communities and holding space for their creativity.
Founded and hosted by Shanna T Melton with the musical accompaniment of DJ Buddha LuvJonz, the atmosphere carries laughter, deep reflection and a rhythm backed by visual art that connects the community in a visceral experience.
Artists from all corners of Connecticut, our country and other parts of the world step on stage and share the work they have created. They are met with support, conversation and an opportunity to add to this Beloved Community.
Everyone is welcome to share as we have had artists from Broadway to the person you see each day in the community. All are given the same love and respect for their courage to grace the stage. The open mic awaits the names and the space awaits artists along with those who wish to be creatively inspired. All forms of expression are encouraged to perform. Bring the poems, the music and the love to Lyrical Voices!
