Join us for an afternoon of powerhouse performances and authentic roots music at MAC BASH, featuring three standout acts with their own story and signature sound.
Kicking off the Roots & Bluegrass Festival is the Erin Harpe Country Blues Duo, delivering soulful country blues and high-energy guitar work. Our second opener, Charlotte Roth & the Big Drama, blends sharp theatrical songwriting with folk-jazz storytelling and a dynamic stage presence.
Closing out the festival, headliner Hitch & the GiddyUp brings their signature mix of Americana, bluegrass, and country flair for a full-throttle, foot-stomping finale.

Formed in 2014 as a pick-up band hosting monthly bluegrass nights in Black Rock, CT, Hitch & the GiddyUp quickly evolved into something far more dynamic. Their creative cohesion led to a string of acclaimed releases, beginning with Under the Neon Swine—a burst of energetic, grassy originals that showcased the shared songwriting talents of guitarist Dan Carlucci and bassist Bob Csugie.
They continued to expand their signature sound with II (2018), recorded almost entirely live at the legendary Power Station under GRAMMY-winning producer Brendan Muldowney. The album pushed them forward into progressive, improvisational bluegrass while honoring the lineage of classic country roots. Their 2020 release, Another Gig in the Bag, reflected a different era—crafted remotely during the pandemic, the record delivered nostalgic, beer-soaked Americana with sharp, seasoned songcraft at its core.
Known for their relentless, joyful live performances, Hitch & the GiddyUp always bring a fresh, dynamic energy to every show—continually adding new material and reinventing older favorites. With a new studio project slated for 2025, their MAC BASH headlining set promises to be both a celebration of their past and a preview of the next chapter.

Recognized by Living Blues Magazine as “today’s country blues at its very best,” with Erin noted as “one of the finest fingerpicking acoustic blues singers in the land,” the duo has built a strong reputation for their authentic sound and engaging performances. Their style centers on Erin’s expressive vocals, intricate fingerstyle guitar, and signature blend of foot percussion and kazoo, complemented by Jim Countryman’s steady bass lines and warm harmonies.
Their career includes well-received acoustic albums, national and international performances, and song features on shows such as Showtime’s Shameless, MTV’s Veronica Mars, and Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. Recently returning from a successful tour across the UK and Spain, the duo continues to explore and expand the traditions of country blues. Their MAC BASH set will offer an intimate, energetic, and roots-rich performance shaped by years of collaboration and musical exploration.

Charlotte Roth & the Big Drama bring a rich blend of theatrical pop, sharp songwriting, and expressive musicianship to the MAC BASH stage.
Their sound moves between pathos and humor, shaped by Charlotte’s mellifluous voice and thoughtful lyrics, supported by an empathic band featuring Eliza Kingsbury (backing vocals), Will Earley (guitar), Mike Tepper (bass), Conor Andrews (drums), and Brian Slattery (violin and banjo). Drawing from folk, jazz, and touches of country, the group creates an emotional and immersive experience, whether performing as a duo, a tight quartet, or a full ensemble.
They have appeared on stages across Connecticut and beyond, including Fairfield Theatre Company, Park City Music Hall, The Granite Church, and The MAC Theatre. Their festival appearances include the Glastonbury Apple Festival, Frog Frolic Festival, and the 21 Songwriters Festival, along with a live performance on WPKN radio.
Charlotte Roth & the Big Drama continue to build momentum, bringing their engaging, heartfelt performances to MAC BASH with a sound that resonates deeply with audiences.
