Join us for The North County Band Concert, the inspired collaboration of Chicago-born songwriter Scott Smith and Texas fiddle star Cat Lines,
with an opening performance by Nashville’s Drew Ryder Smith.
Backed by Connecticut’s finest musicians, they blend Folk, Rock, Country, and Americana—with a touch of Nashville flair to start the night.
The North County band is the creative culmination of Chicago-born singer-songwriter Scott Smith and Texas fiddle sensation, Cat Lines. Together they summoned some of Connecticut’s most seasoned and versatile musicians to complement their songwriting craft & musical prowess and to deliver a unique signature sound. Their debut EP, “Connecticut”, is widely regarded as a grass-roots collaborative effort with songs about the Nutmeg State, isolation, challenges of the modern era, and family.
Opening Performer – Drew Ryder Smith
An RIAA Gold Certified songwriter, Drew Ryder Smith’s work has been recorded in many countries including the US, Canada, Ireland, Germany and Australia (among others) by legends like Merle Haggard, Nashville powerhouse Randy Houser, Rob Snyder, Jason Charles Miller, Kevin Denney, John Schneider, and Australian-Canadian country singer, Gord Bamford, who stands as one of the most decorated artists in Canadian country music and the only two-time winner of the CMA Global Country Artist of the Year award.
Drew’s long songwriting career has also afforded him the opportunity to write with Don Schlitz (“The Gambler,” “When You Say Nothing At All”), Rob Snyder (“She Got The Best Of Me” – Luke Combs), Driver Williams (“Smoke A Little Smoke” – Eric Church), Bobby Pinson (“Some Of It” – Eric Church) and he continues to work with some of the brightest talent in Nashville.
Meet the Band!
Scott Smith – Acoustic Guitar & Lead Vocals
Chicago native Scott Smith grew up on the country sounds of his Louisiana-born father and inherited his voice from his mother. After years as a nonprofit leader, professor, and at-home dad, he founded the North County Band in 2020 to unite creativity, community, and philanthropy through music.
Cat Lines – Fiddle & Lead Vocals
Texas-born Cat Lines began playing violin at eight and grew from shy orchestral student to a confident fiddle virtuoso and singer-songwriter. With songs streamed worldwide and tours across the Northeast and Midwest, she brings both technical brilliance and bold artistry to the North County Band.
Bradley Clark – Bass Guitar
Bradley Clark knew early that bass was his calling, shaping his sound through influences from his mother’s piano and guitar. With a “less is more” approach, he’s become a sought-after sideman across the East Coast and beyond, anchoring performances with taste and precision.
Jona Ziac – Lap Steel & Dobro
Veteran multi-instrumentalist Jona Ziac has spent more than 35 years performing on Dobro, lap steel, guitar, and bass across blues, country, rock, and bluegrass. From Infinity Hall to Daryl’s House Club, his versatile sound makes him a vital thread in the band’s musical tapestry.
David Rauh – Drums
Trained in applied percussion at the University of South Florida, David Rauh built his career in the Tampa Bay scene before moving to Connecticut, where he has become a fixture in Fairfield County’s live music circuit. A versatile drummer influenced by Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, and Billy Cobham, he has recorded with original bands and performed with groups ranging from acoustic trios to high-energy cover acts.
Vinny Zupo – Guitar
Vinny Zupo is a Northeast-based guitarist known for his country playing, with roots that also span rock, metal, jazz, and blues. He has toured with some of the region’s top country acts and continues to bring his versatile style to the North County Band.
