Meet the artists of Metro Art Studios – over 40 artists working in a wide variety of disciplines, from drawing to painting, sculpture to jewelry, printmaking to photography, video, and music. Three full floors of professional artists in loft studios to wander, discover, explore, and learn about various forms of art, inspiration, process, and so much more. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a potential collector, or simply curious, this event offers a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of contemporary art. Tour the historic three-story, award-winning renovated corset factory-turned-art studios for a peek into Bridgeport’s industrial past and its artistic present and future.

Twist and Shout - Multiple Artists
The Crown Gallery at Metro Arts Studios is proud to present Twist and Shout, an exhibit that features six artists whose figures bend, twist, and fracture – communicating what words cannot. Rooted in Expressionism, the exhibition moves fluidly between abstraction and figuration, where grotesque caricature and distortion are a visual shorthand for emotion, tension, and identity. As artists – Alex Ceppi, John Guzman, Louisa Pancoast, Melissa Stern, Yue Yuan, and Tamsen Williams – echo the prevailing mood and emotional state of our nation, curator Ellen Hawley helps bring these expressions into a broader conversation. Some works lean into dark humor, while others are raw and gritty, but together they explore movement, resilience and the expressive potential of the human figure. The exhibit runs from March 29 to April 25, 2026.
Following the Feminine - Diane Pollack
Metro Art Studios is delighted to have an exhibit of the work of Diane Pollack as Featured Artist, starting March 29. Following the Feminine is an exploration of matriarchal history, myth, and memory—told through layers of collage and hand stitching. In this body of work, Diane Pollack draws from generational ritual and archetypical imagery, weaving together fragments of story, symbol, and inherited experience. Each piece carries the texture of time: paper, thread, and mark-making become acts of devotion, repair, and remembrance. Each work becomes a quiet spiritual practice, honoring the lived strength and continuity of the feminine line. The exhibit runs from March 29 to May 2. Gallery hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 4 PM and by appointment.
