Tip of The Hat Series: An Inspired Concert

“Dolly Parton”

The series continues with an evening inspired by Dolly Parton—the legendary singer-songwriter, actress, and philanthropist whose wit, warmth, and unmistakable voice have made her an American icon. Celebrated for her storytelling, generosity, and trailblazing career spanning decades, Parton’s music and spirit continue to uplift and inspire audiences around the world.

In a world where a divide often exists between die-hard fans of local music and casual listeners who belt out iconic hits on their morning commute, Tip of The Hat aims to bridge that gap—one unforgettable show at a time. Imagine a classic songwriter round, then stir in just a dash of The Voice or American Idol.

What you get is an intimate, powerful experience where emerging singer-songwriters not only perform their own originals but also pay tribute to the legendary artists who shaped their musical journeys. Each show features four acts, each performing a mix of their own songs and select tracks from a chosen “icon of the month.” The result? Audiences are guaranteed to recognize at least half the setlist, while being introduced to rising talent carrying the torch of those musical giants.

More than just a concert, Tip of The Hat is a gateway—a meeting place where mainstream music lovers discover new voices, and where local artists share the stage with the spirit of their heroes. Stephen Peter Rodgers - Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist +

Based in Connecticut. Stephen Peter Rodgers is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist whose career spans over three decades. A fixture in the New Haven music scene, he first made his mark as frontman of the acclaimed band Mighty Purple before founding the influential Space complex in Hamden. Now the owner of Tiny Bunker Recording Studio and signed to Bigger Beast Records, Stephen continues to craft and produce music rooted in Americana, folk, and indie rock. His latest work, including the evocative single “Winter Is Coming,” showcases his signature blend of depth, texture, and emotional honesty — hallmarks of a true artistic visionary.
