Living in a Busy World in Your Own World
Description
Color pencils on gray paper. 13in by 20in. NFS
Artist Statement
Remember those days as a student when you couldn’t wait to reach the finish line? I’ve felt that way many times, until I realized I had it all wrong. Every step forward, every wins, and every mistake was about discovering who I was meant to be and growing through each experience.
Judges’ Comments
Maritza’s piece speaks to me as a creative person. It’s how I imagined Times Square to be as a kid. Frantic energy, bold colors and possibilities. The perspective and line work is like something out of a comic book. Masterful work.
