New England Guitar Society
Love the classical guitar? Do you play? Just enjoy listening?
The New England Guitar Society (NEGS) was established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians and enthusiasts. Our goal is to increase the public interest in classical guitar, for new audiences and players.
The Society invites guest artists to perform public concerts and hold master classes at the acoustically rich chamber concert hall of the Milford Arts Council.
Our Classical Guitar Sessions meet on the second Sunday of the month at 2 PM at The MAC’s Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Avenue, Walnut Beach.
- Our meetings are designed to welcome anyone interested in the classical guitar. The participants don’t need to be players themselves. The moderated meetings create occasions for discussions, anecdotes about the classical guitar, news about online recordings, videos, as well as technical discussions, exchange of ideas about the guitar.
- We strive for a friendly and casual environment where anyone who plays the classical guitar at any level is welcome. Play, try excerpts of your work, or just join as an enthusiast. Participate in a journey with the gentle sound of classical guitar.
