Tip of The Hat Series: An Inspired Concert
“Pearl Jam”
The series continues with a night inspired by Pearl Jam—the Seattle-born rock band that helped define the grunge movement of the 1990s and reshaped the sound of American rock. Known for their raw energy, socially conscious lyrics, and enduring influence, Pearl Jam remains one of the most iconic and influential bands of their generation.
In a world where a divide often exists between die-hard fans of local music and casual listeners who belt out iconic hits on their morning commute, Tip of The Hat aims to bridge that gap—one unforgettable show at a time. Imagine a classic songwriter round, then stir in just a dash of The Voice or American Idol.
What you get is an intimate, powerful experience where emerging singer-songwriters not only perform their own originals but also pay tribute to the legendary artists who shaped their musical journeys. Each show features four acts, each performing a mix of their own songs and select tracks from a chosen “icon of the month.” The result? Audiences are guaranteed to recognize at least half the setlist, while being introduced to rising talent carrying the torch of those musical giants.
More than just a concert, Tip of The Hat is a gateway—a meeting place where mainstream music lovers discover new voices, and where local artists share the stage with the spirit of their heroes. It’s the bowl of fresh fruit in the middle of a long lunch table—the connection point between the indie singer/songwriter and the listener who just hasn’t heard them yet.
Featured Artists and Songwriters:
Benny Mikula
Benny Mikula hails from Connecticut and has made his own space around New England through his soul-touching lyricism and compelling live performances. Benny holds a Bachelor's Degree in music, but provides audiences with a lesson you cannot learn in school. Whether he is solo acoustic or accompanied by a full band, the electricity and energy are beyond doubt. His charisma, inviting smile, and dedicated passion shine through every time he steps onto the stage.
Hatfield
Hatfield's journey began behind a drumset at age 15. Evolving into a singer and guitarist years later, he would combine percussive grooves with lyrics that cut deep. Tracks like "Copin' Ways" thump with soulful, rhythmic guitars and gritty vocals, while songs like "Fate Comes Easy" latch onto an infectious groove behind vulnerable lyrics. Inspired by the spaces where triumph and struggle collide, his storytelling is more than a backdrop—it’s the driving force.
John Torres
John Torres is the frontman of the band Wild & Company. Wild & Company emerged from the creative synergy of lead singer and guitarist John Torres and bassist Ian Tait, two seasoned musicians bound by their love of rootsy indie rock and an enduring friendship. The band's inception can be traced back to a significant turning point in John's life when he took a leap of faith by renovating and opening Park City Music Hall in 2021.
