MAC Open Exhibit Schedule with Call for Artists
The Milford Arts Council presents open call art exhibits throughout the year at our two galleries, the MAC downtown and the Firehouse Gallery in Walnut Beach. On this page you’ll find a listing of all of the shows with key dates that are planned for the year. The exhibits and opening receptions are free and open to the public – and always family-friendly. Meet and mingle with the artists at receptions.

Milford Senior Center Art Show
This is a special invitational exhibit featuring the imagination of some of Milford’s most creative seniors. There is no call for entry.
- Opening Reception: Thursday, Sept 5, 5-7pm

Fear & Hope
How would you express these basic human emotions or the tension between them?

MAC Member Show
This is our annual celebration of our MAC Member Artists. MAC Members only. There is no set theme defined for this show. No submission fee for the first work submitted.
- Submission Deadline: Fri, Oct 11, 2024, Midnight
- Opening Reception: Thu, Nov 7, 2024, 6pm – 8pm
- Gallery Viewing Hours: Tues-Fri from 12-4pm

The Figure In Place
Create a landscape or interior scene that expresses the connection between people and their environment.

Milford Photo Expo
Our yearly collaboration with Milford Photo placing photographic and digital art front and center. There is no set theme defined for this show.

Firehouse Gallery
April 24 – May 4, 2025
Monochrome: Color & Word
Explore a single color of your choosing (including white or black) through its various shades and temperatures in any 2-D or 3-D medium.
April is Poetry month, and once again we invite poets to submit their words in a framed format, to include words in a visual arts work, or in collaboration with a visual artist.
- Submission Deadline: Fri, Apr 4, Midnight
- Opening Reception: Thu, Apr 24, 6pm – 8pm
- Gallery Hours: Sat/Sun Apr. 26, 27, May 3, 4 12-4pm

July 10 – 20, 2025
The Process
- Part 1: Artists will submit a finished work in any 2-D or 3-D medium of their choosing.
- Part 2: Artists will submit the plan or process of creating the finished work; this may include: sketches, mood boards, color studies, references, etc. These must also be ready for gallery hanging or display.
- Submission Deadline: Fri, June 6, Midnight
- Opening Reception: Thu, July 10, 6pm – 8pm
- Gallery Hours: Sat/Sun July 12, 13, 19, 20 12-4pm

May 20 = June 9, 2024
Scape: In the Garden
Our annual landscape themed show where the garden is the subject.
- Gallery Hours: Saturday / Sunday from 12p-4p. The gallery is free and open to the public for viewing at these times.
MAC Gallery
June 7 – August 2, 2024
Milford Student Show
Open and free to all Milford students in grades K-12. Each student may submit one art work.
- Drop off art work at the MAC, 40 Railroad Ave, Milford: May 31, 4-6pm or June 1, 10-12noon.
- Run Dates: June 11 – August 1, 2024.
- Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Friday from 3p – 4p. The gallery is free and open to the public for viewing at these times.
- Award Reception / Artwork Pickup: Thursday, August 1, 2024 , 5:30 – 6:30pm
