Visual Arts Exhibits 2024-2025
The Milford Arts Council presents open call art exhibits throughout the year at our two galleries, the MAC downtown and the Firehouse Gallery in Walnut Beach. On this page you’ll find a listing of all of the shows with key dates that are planned for the year. The exhibits and opening receptions are free and open to the public – and always family-friendly. Meet and mingle with the artists at receptions.

Milford Pride Art Show 2025: Trans Joy
Milford Pride presents local Connecticut transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming artists for displaying their artworks in the second annual Milford Pride art show. The theme for the show is “Trans Joy,” artistic representations of the beauty of the trans experience. Despite the constant challenges and hate facing the trans community, we want to showcase the importance and power of joy, pride, and positivity.

Monochrome: Color & Word
Explore a single color of your choosing (including white or black) through its various shades and temperatures in any 2-D or 3-D medium.
April is Poetry month, and once again we invite poets to submit their words in a framed format, to include words in a visual arts work, or in collaboration with a visual artist.

The Process
- Part 1: Artists will submit a finished work in any 2-D or 3-D medium of their choosing.
- Part 2: Artists will submit the plan or process of creating the finished work; this may include: sketches, mood boards, color studies, references, etc. These must also be ready for gallery hanging or display.
- Submission Deadline: Fri, June 6, Midnight
Artwork Drop off: Fri June 13, 4-6pm, & Sat June 14, 10-12pm
- Opening Reception: Thu, July 10, 6pm – 8pm
- Gallery Hours: Sat/Sun July 12, 13, 19, 20 12-4pm
Artwork Pick Up: Sun July 20 4-6pm, Mon June 30, 4-6 pm
